I have always been fascinated by wood and its tactile beauty.

I learned woodwork from my father as a child. We grew up with handcrafted dolls’ wardrobes and cots built especially for my sisters and me. Our bespoke blackboard has just been passed on to another generation to enjoy. My early work was thankfully never tested to such an extent!

After years of developing my craft through making furniture as a hobby, taking evening classes and wood turning, I decided to take my skills, and interest, to the next level. I enrolled in full time training with a furniture maker in rural Oxfordshire. Following this I set up a workshop with a fellow maker in the delightful countryside of Berkshire, and subsequently set up my own workshop in Wiltshire.

I prefer to work in native, European or American hardwoods, although I am happy to explore more exotic timbers according to your thoughts and design ideas. All timber used carries the Forest Stewardship Council or PEFC certification. This ensures that the forest products used are from responsibly harvested and verified sources. I am also happy to use timber reclaimed from old pieces to ensure this precious resource is not squandered.
